Isler Academy of Sailing Secrets was founded in 2020 by two-time America's Cup winner and best-selling author, Peter Isler.

With thousands of students already having taken courses at the Academy, the online school is designed to help sailors and boaters in various aspects of their sport through the expertise of Peter and his world-class instructors.

Marine Weather University (MWU) was the first school launched within the Isler Academy and features a college-style curriculum (25 different classes) designed and taught by veteran meteorologist, Chris Bedford.

Isler is now focusing on the next Academy school aimed at navigation and use of Expedition software. All the Academy's classes are online so students can learn at their own pace.

About the ABCs of Expedition Software:

Peter Isler teaches an entertaining class showcasing the features and tools that have made Expedition Navigation & Sailing Software ubiquitous on cutting edge boats in the America's Cup and the world of Grand Prix racing. This is not a "how-to" instructional program - it is intended to be interesting and entertaining for sailors of all backgrounds, showing off this versatile tool for boaters of all levels.

No prior experience is necessary (although it will be a good "refresher" for infrequent users). Peter will illustrate many of Expedition's features including:

  • Basic navigation/chart plotting
  • Weather analysis
  • AIS tracking
  • Instrument tuning
  • Performance sailing
  • Weather routing/GRIB files

No matter whether you sail a windsurfer or superyacht - if you are interested in learning how technology and computing power has changed our sport, come on aboard!

This class will be first conducted as a live webinar before going online. Supporting Peter in the live webinar will be Around the World Race winning navigator and designer of Expedition Nick White, and world class navigator and marine electronics expert Artie Means.

Enrollment to the live class is limited to the first 500 students. Early registration is recommended for those that want to attend the live lectures. If you can't make the live lecture, it will be recorded and the lecture and all the class resources will be uploaded into the Academy's curriculum.

Live Webinar: Tuesday, February 22 @ 5PM (Los Angeles)
