THA win at XIV Trofeo EuroMarina Regatta

In the huge event sailed in Torreveija, Spain, 27-30 January, there were exactly 400 participants. According to the locals, it was "warm conditions", but for the visiting Thai sailors it was freezing! Despite the unfamiliar weather there was an sensational win margin of 52 points between winner THA sailor Weka Bhanubandh (Royal Varuna Yacht Club) and Hugo Rodrigues Pascual ESP in 2nd place. Bronze was won by Roberto Auilar Medunaevetrophe (ESP).

This gives Weka an excellent start to the 2022 season, building on his 2021 results including a win in the Europeans and a 5th place in the Worlds after a very mediocre last day! Weka is now looking forward to the upcoming Opti Worlds (22 June-7 July 2022) in Bodrum, Turkey. Hopefully the weather and the water will be a little warmer. But for sure there will be plenty of Asian sailors cheering him on!
