Gene Machine and Gene Chaser to lead Damen Yachting's Miami Yacht Show line up

by Amels and Damen Yachting 3 Feb 2022 06:09 AEDT February 16-20, 2022

Damen Yachting is delighted to confirm that the 55-metre Amels 180 Gene Machine and 55-metre Yacht Support YS 5009 Gene Chaser will be showcasing at this year's Miami Yacht Show.

This ultimate Damen Yachting duo will be on display stern to stern at the exclusive Island Gardens location from 16th - 20th February.

With their custom fleet colours, Gene Machine and Gene Chaser are a wonderful example of the how the diversity within the Damen Yachting portfolio can be combined to create a unique yachting fleet. One that perfectly supports an Owner's very specific yachting needs - combining a dedication to science and technology with life on board.

Gene Chaser joined the fleet in 2021 as a dedicated scientific hub. A floating laboratory set up for specialist scientists and research. This Yacht Support works in tandem with Gene Machine - a superyacht delivered in 2013 from the successful Amels 180 Limited Editions design. She has made a name for herself as a global cruiser, taking the family everywhere from the Bahamas to the Arctic Circle as well as notably having her Main Salon converted into a laboratory in 2017 for taking water samples around the world and more recently used in the development of an at home coronavirus test kit called 'Detect'.

Having both yachts showcasing together at the Miami Yacht Show provides a unique opportunity for a complete fleet to be on display during a show. Two different and yet complementing yachts combining forces to create 110-metres of superyacht strength, capacity, and facilities.

Throughout the show, members of the Damen Yachting team will be available to discuss the entire portfolio of yachting solutions including Amels, SeaXplorer, Yacht Support and Refit.

"We are very excited to be collaborating with Gene Machine and Gene Chaser during the Miami Yacht Show. To have both yachts from the fleet at the show, together, stern to stern, is a very unique opportunity. It truly showcases what the Damen Yachting portfolio is all about and more importantly, how a very specific vision of yachting, family experiences, science and work can be brought to life." Damen Yachting Commercial executive Jan van Hogerwou.
