Three weeks to go to Heaven Can Wait 2022 - Urgent update

Clearly the current Covid 19 case and hospitalisation numbers are cause for concern with the organisers of major charity and community events.

The Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta organising committee are at the point of having to decide if this event is going ahead as planned and we need your help to make that decision. As you can imagine organising and managing a regatta of this scale takes a lot of effort and we clearly do not want to have to cancel the event because of a forecast lack of race entrants. Traditionally, most race entries do not come in until the 2 weeks preceding the regatta, and we need you to consider putting your entry in - or letting us know that you plan to put an entry in, within the next week. We need to decide if the event will proceed by January 20th.

The Heaven Can Wait Charity Sailing Regatta is a great charity fund raising event in support of the Hunter Branch of Cancer Council NSW and their Home Help Program. It has raised $470,000 in the 15 years it has been running and we would like to think that with your support, we can get over the $half million mark this year.

Like the regatta, we also need to decide whether we proceed with the Heaven Can Wait Charity Dinner on Friday February 4th at the Royal Motor Yacht Club Toronto and again forecast attendance numbers will be key in making that decision. Our guests will be the legends of 505 sailing - 4 crews of 505 Sailors from Lake Macquarie, who were all 505 World Champions in the hey days of the 505 Sailing Dinghy. They include Reg Crick, Terry Kyrwood, Gary Bruniges, Greg Gardiner, Chris and Darren Nicholson and Dean Blatchford. As has been the custom, the crews will be interviewed by Helene O'Neil - well known ABC Newcastle sports commentator.

You can book your tickets now by clicking on Dinner Tickets.
