New Zealand’s premier marina, Westhaven Marina, has selected the internationally-renowned, high quality range of Spinlock inflatable lifejackets for their staff. Peter Vitali, from the well-known Westhaven chandlery, Harken Fosters, which supplied the lifejackets, says he had no hesitation in recommending the Spinlock range.

“Spinlock have proven to be some of the most comfortable and appropriate lifejackets in the world,” he says. “They have been used successfully in all sorts of marine applications, including sailing and commercial use, making them ideal for Westhaven, or indeed any other marina.”

Jayson Maud, Westhaven Marina’s Logistics Team Leader, says the Spinlock lifejackets quickly proved to be a big success with the marina’s staff.

“Our Dockmaster and Maintenance teams are required to wear lifejackets for extended periods: approximately 8 hour per shift. That means it is vitally important that their lifejackets are not only an extremely high quality and provide the safety features we need, but also that they last and are comfortable to wear for extended periods.

“After a lot of research and trials the team was in complete agreement: the Spinlock lifejackets were the best option for Westhaven’s needs.”

Spinlock inflatable lifejackets, which have Maritime NZ approval for use on both commercial and recreational vessels in New Zealand, fit comfortably around the shoulders (rather than the neck like other lifejackets) are lightweight and low profile. They include a single crotch strap with recessed clip (to reduce the risk of snagging), have 170N buoyancy and one size fits all. They also come with a long 5-year warranty.

The increasingly-popular Spinlock range is now available nationwide through New Zealand distributor Lusty and Blundell’s network of leading marine dealers and through L&B’s three showrooms in Auckland, Whangarei and Tauranga.

Product and dealer information is available from Lusty and Blundell on (09) 415-8303 or at www.lusty-blundell.co.nz.
