2021 Sydney to Hobart pre-race interviews - Speedwell, Gweilo, Disko Trooper, and Salt Shaker.

RSHYR 2021 | Matt Donald – Gweilo

The TP52 Gweilo has been very successfully campaigned by owners Matt Donald and Chris Townsend over the last few years. Shortly after the start of the 2021 Blue Water Series, Matt Donald explained some improvements to their sail wardrobe made during the COVID lockdown and why he’s not yet changed his COVID hairstyle!

RSHYR 2021 | Peter Franki & Drew Jones – Salt Shaker (2H)

Peter Franki and Drew Jones are racing to Hobart in the Two-Handed division aboard the Sydney 36 Salt Shaker. Here they talk about some of the changes and improvements they have made to the boat that ensures handling by a crew of two is a little simpler.

RSHYR 2021 | Wendy Tuck – Speedwell (2H)

Wendy Tuck was the first female winning skipper in the 2018 Clipper Race. For the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race in 2021 she’s opting for the opposite end of the spectrum, joining Campbell Geeves in the Two-Handed Division aboard the Beneteau 34.7 Speedwell. Here she explains some of the challenges of two handed offshore racing, including the dangers of getting ‘slangry’!

RSHYR 2021 | Jan Scholten – Disko Trooper_Contender Sailcloth (2H)

Jan Scholten and Jules Hall will race the J99 Disko Trooper- Contender Sailcloth to Hobart in the Two Handed Division. Shortly after the start of the Blue Water Series Jan explained how he got into shorthanded sailing why they chose the J99.
