For those who know the history behind Eyachts and founder Peter Hrones the move into sailing will come as no surprise. Hrones has been sailing for 45 years and for the last 30 years has been responsible for bringing many of Europe's most successful and popular sailing yacht brands to Australia. With this level of expertise and a passion for sailing, when the right brand was found it was a natural progression to add exciting new sailing yachts to the Eyachts portfolio.

You may be asking how YYachts fits within Eyachts portfolio of power boats? As the largest importer of dayboats in Australia, Eyachts owners are now asking about superyachts.

"Our owners trust our judgement to find the best superyachts with the best designers, so we have decided to bring in a select few models that fit our criteria; efficient hulls, lightweight and great performance," says Hrones.

Michael Schmidt, founder and brains behind YYachts is well acclaimed within the global marine industry and has had a trusting relationship with Hrones since the 90s.

"Michael Schmidt always had a great vision for what he wanted to produce, being a great sailor himself. With YYachts he's been able to create a niche that possibly wasn't even there before..." says Hrones.

Schmidt is truly changing the game with YYachts, making luxury carbon sailing Yachts ranging from 70 to 100ft which exceed all expectations and break the bounds of possibility. YYachts are made to perform and to be sailed short-handed. The exclusive use of carbon gives these vessels the upper hand when it comes to weight, combine this with large sail areas and you have a recipe for inspiring performance.

Hrones explains... "when building boats over 70ft YYachts it is remarkable when a company can keep the weight down in order to keep her sailing fast. For example, the Y7 is under 30 tonnes where competitors are 40 to 50 tonnes or even more. This combined with the Y7's 300 sqm of sail area is what makes these yachts so unbelievable and gives it the edge to be able to sail in light wind. And it's a boat that's easy to sail short-handed.

However, YYachts aren't solely about getting places fast, they are also about the 5-star experience they provide during the journey, a space that you could imagine yourself living in. With volumes larger than others in their class and award-winning interiors, for us Downunder this could mean a European pickup and the opportunity to cruise all over the world in absolute comfort and luxury.

All the designers involved are unique yachting legends. What sets the range apart is the interior design which has massive WOW factor with clean minimalistic layouts and extremely detail-oriented, which has led to YYachts winning the Wallpaper Design Award 2020. Above deck, the layout is clean, flows.

The thing I learnt from Michael most was keeping the construction, the build and the sailing simple," adds Hrones.

So why YYachts? The keyword here is simplicity.

"Across Eyachts entire portfolio we only have eye-catching yachts but more importantly we look at the design, the build, the simplicity, the cleanness, the lines. Eyachts only take on brands without unnecessary gimmicks and gadgets and moving parts that may have issues. We want our customers to be out enjoying the world, winning regattas and loving their boat and not having to deal with unnecessary warranty issues."
