The 2021 J/111 World Championship hosted by Hampton Yacht Club in Hampton, Virginia USA launched on Thursday under sunny skies and breeze averaging 10-12 knots. Seven J/111s completed three races.

Taking the early advantage is Rodrick Jabin's Ramrod with two bullets and a second for 4 points. Local Ian Hill's Sitella put together a solid day for second place (8 points), and the Bravo team led by Andrew & Sedgwick Ward is in third (10 points).

Earning the first victory of the Championship was Jabin's Ramrod, with the Wards' Bravo and Jeff Davis' Shamrock following. Hill's Sitella took line honors in race two, while Jabin and the Ward duo remained in the top three. Returning to first place in the day's final battle was Jabin's Ramrod, ahead of Peter Wagner's Skeleton Key and Hill.

Racing continues through Sunday. Complete results are available here.
