by WASZP 12 Oct 2021 06:20 PDT

The final European leg of SailGP season 2 concluded in style over the weekend in Spain!

Some of the best young talent in Spain converged on the Inspire Racing Circuit in Cadiz. Sailors were greeted by the best conditions of the European Season, racing alongside the F50s in front of the massive estimated crowds of 11,000, this provided a genuine inside look at what life could be as a professional sailor. The 8x men and 8x women sailors selected for the event, battled it out for a shot to compete in the final 8 for the gold fleet.

The racing was taken out on super Sunday in nuclear conditions by Jaime Framis Harguindey who took a commanding 7 point win. We now look forward to Sydney in December and then onto the final leg in San Francisco in March.

EuroCup Final concludes huge month in Spain

As the European summer begins to wind down, the final WASZP EuroCup event will be held in Roses, Spain from the 29th - 31st of October.

A total of 152 competitors have raced across the five events so far and we are expecting to add significantly to that with the EuroCup finale in Spain. The timing of the event provides the perfect opportunity for those who want to keep their boats in Spain over the winter and have glamourous training conditions in the lead up to the 2022 WASZP European Championships to be held in Mar Menor (Spain) from the 13th - 17th April.
