Sunshine, splicing but no sailing on day 1 of the Moth Inlands at Rutland

Day one of the International Moth Class UK Inlands at Rutland proved a mixed one for the large group of gathered skippers.
On the one hand the lack of wind to get racing started was frustrating, yet on the other the glorious sunshine offered an opportunity for a Moth sailors favourite pastime, boat bimbling.
Across the rigging park there were new sails being fitted, ropes spliced and re-spliced, foil angles tweaked and to round it off a late afternoon viewing of fellow Mothies tearing it up in Cadiz at SailGP.
With Pasta and Beer on the menu courtesy of our race day sponsor Allen Brothers we are tipping a few may struggle with the early start in tomorrow's predicted 8-10knot North Westerly.
Five races scheduled and for the full fleet the dream of the Rose Bowl is still alive.
