One of the most popular events for the Mediterranean Trophy in the Marseilles J/70 fleet happens to be the Massilia Cup held off Marseilles, France.

An eight-boat fleet was hosted by the very capable host, the Le Cercle Nautique et Touristique du Lacydon. The fleet was treated to widely varying weather conditions, with a stormy, wet, rainy Saturday as a Low-pressure system passed through the French Riviera to a gorgeous, sunny, near postcard-perfect Sunday to close the regatta.

In the end, it was another victory for the Triskell team. Led Elizabeth Vaillant with crew of Christine Briand (a famous woman tactician and navigator in France), Veronica Mosca, Vianney Vautier, and Charles Duboeuf. Their somewhat invincible tally of 2-1-1-1 for three points net gave them a runaway victory.

Sailing nearly as brilliantly, but just a step behind Triskell, was Marinou Papayou's Cnt'Elles and his team of girlfriends- Marine Pailloux, Delphine Markt, Marie Duvignac, Antonia Boisselier, and Aurelle Mourard. The tally was a mirror of Triskell's, posting a 1-2-2-2 for 5 pts net to take the silver.

Rounding out the podium was Anthony Garcia's Jifmar Offshore Services. His team of Foad Zahedi, Alexandre Ortega Silve, Charles Baudusseau, Laura Chassaing, Durandt De Wet, and Etienne Mercier were able to score 4-3-OCS-3 for 10 pts. net to take the bronze medal.

For the Mediterranean Cup crews, the next event is from October 22 to 24 for the J/70 Quantum Cup at Port Grimaud, France. Then, the Atlantic Cup crews will meet week at the famous Spi Ouest-France Regatta in La Trinite sur Mer, France, where 17 competitors will meet again.
