The North Sails Snipe North Americans start today at the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly MA. The talent-laden field of 41 competitors is returning to our venue for the first time since the Nationals in 2019.

Among the field of competitors are Olympians, Rolex Yachtsman of the Year winners and collegiate All Americans. Of particular note, Ernesto Rodriguez and Kathleen Tocke will be here having just returned from a 1st place finish in Split, Croatia last Sunday. In addition, the "Diaz Sailing Academy" has shown up in force with 4 boats and a group of talented sailors ranging in age from their early 20s to their mid 60s.

The organizers are particularly excited at the emerging youth movement in the Snipe class that is in evidence here in Beverly - over 30% of the fleet is under the age of 30. "The crop of recent college graduates sailing Snipes is impressive and a great site to see." said Shan McAdoo, one of the event organizers. "The Snipe class has such a legacy of competitive sailing and affordability it becomes the natural home for people looking for "Serious Sailing and Serious fun".

Sailing on Salem Sound will continue through Sunday when a new North Americans Champion will be crowned. The organizers have worked very hard to create an event in a covid safe manner all shoreside activities will be outdoors in a tent.

The organizers want to thank our sponsors - North Sails, Jubilee Yacht Club, SCIRA, JibeTech, Kinder, and so many more.
