Groupe Beneteau charters its course to develop new boating experiences. In Cannes, on September 6, 2021, Groupe Beneteau dedicated a unique gathering night with its international community to announce major transformations in a world in constant evolution.

On the eve of the 43rd Cannes Yachting Festival opening, Groupe Beneteau hosted on the Croisette a new format event titled On the Horizon, sharing with 150 selected guests the new developments and latest product innovation.

Opening the event, Jérôme de Metz, Groupe Beneteau Chairman and CEO, explained that: "The epidemic and its consequences have accelerated the various transitions already under way. There are new expectations and user habits, new ways of travelling and latest technologies: a new world of pleasure boating and marine leisure is coming into view on the horizon, and all of us throughout Groupe Beneteau are positioning ourselves to be the leading players in this new world."

While remaining firmly rooted in its boatbuilding foundations, Groupe Beneteau is also becoming a creator of experiences, offering new products and new services.

SEANAPPS connected boat solution revealed

On the top of the innovations and game-changing solutions introduced during the presentation, Gianguido Girotti, Deputy CEO in charge of the Brand and Product Strategy, revealed the SEANAPPS connected boat solution.

"Developed together with our partner Sentinel Marine Solutions, this on-board smart application enables boaters, dealers and charter companies to connect to their boat or fleet at any time. We are very excited to kick start this solution with a series of BENETEAU, JEANNEAU and PRESTIGE models. By 2025, all 9,000 boats we build every year will be equipped with SEANAPPS as standard equipment. It illustrates well our philosophy and our business approach: we are the integrators of a solution developed by our partner, a solution that we deploy on a vast scale."

Marko Pihlar, CEO of Sentinel Marine Solutions and partner of Groupe Beneteau for the SEANAPPS solution added:

"As an end-to-end solution provider, we are now able to take the latest connected boat innovations into the mainstream. By partnering with Groupe Beneteau, Sentinel Marine Solutions will expand its global presence and contribute to transform, simplify and enhance the boating experience for thousands of users, with both new and existing boats."

Going Electric for Beneteau, and Excess

Another major development announced during the event ON THE HORIZON 2021 is the introduction of electric and hybrid propulsion systems for the BENETEAU, and EXCESS brands. These new technologies are featured on the EXCESS 15 sailing catamaran on display at Port Canto at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the BENETEAU Oceanis 30.1 sailboat that will be displayed at the Grand Pavois in La Rochelle, France and Barcelona, Spain.
