Complete systems specialist signs agreement to supply its next generation 8000i solution for reliable and efficient power around the world onboard British boatbuilder's benchmark bluewater cruiser.

British boatbuilder Oyster Yachts has selected the Fischer Panda UK variable speed iSeries generators as standard fit onboard the new Oyster 495.

The agreement for Fischer Panda UK to supply its 8000i genset for Oyster's benchmark 50-foot bluewater cruiser is the latest endorsement for the complete systems specialist, indicating that the quiet and compact generators are the units of choice to meet the high standards upheld by the world's leading yacht manufacturers.

Oyster Yachts is offering the light and compact Panda 8000i standard capsule design in multi-voltage EU 230V and US 120V as an option for Oyster 495 owners across the world, with ten generators already supplied for installation on the initial production models.

The Fischer Panda UK units will provide Oyster Yachts customers with the latest variable speed technology and industry-leading super-silent operation to run on-board systems and appliances, and charge batteries, on the stylish new Oyster 495.

The first all-new Oyster under Richard Hadida's ownership, the Oyster 495 redefines proven design concepts and heralds a return to the 50-foot market where the brand made its name, offering a stunning combination of performance, comfort and style, with a host of practical seamanlike features. Easy to handle for a family crew, the yacht opens the door to a new cohort of Oyster owners, whether it is for exploring coastal waters, crossing oceans or circumnavigating the globe.

"We are delighted to partner with Fischer Panda UK - their next generation 8000i generator meets the same high standards we hold ourselves to and adds another level of quality to our yachts that sets Oyster apart from the competition," comments Richard Hadida, CEO and Owner of Oyster Yachts.

Ideal for running high start-up loads such as multiple air conditioning units, water makers, dive compressors and electric cooking, Fischer Panda UK's environmentally friendly 8000i is ideal for boats from 45 to 85-foot and for boat owners with limited space who are looking for independence away from marinas or shore power.

The 8000i is fitted with the renowned Fischer Panda sound insulation and efficient twin circuit water cooling and is characterised by its high efficiency, quiet operation and compact design, like all iSeries Fischer Panda inverter generators featuring variable speed control. The next generation technology means the speed of the diesel engine is adjusted according to the user's changing power requirements while the output voltage always remains constant from the PMGI inverter. This not only significantly improves fuel efficiency, but also benefits the environment as the engine is always working correctly loaded thereby operating at its most efficient, with reduced wear and emissions in comparison with a traditional generator with fixed speed RPM.

Chris Fower, Sales and Marketing Director, Fischer Panda UK, said: "We are pleased to partner with Oyster Yachts on this landmark yacht in a supply agreement which once again highlights our capabilities to supply multi-voltage, multi-frequency generators to fulfil the requirements of global boatbuilders. Our iSeries generators are quiet, light, environmentally-friendly and fuel-efficient power and battery-charging solutions that will offer Oyster customers the reliable and non-intrusive onboard experience they expect. The Oyster 495 also features Mastervolt and CZone systems, which is technology Fischer Panda generators integrate into via NMEA2000 communication outputs."
