Two-time America's Cup venue, Valencia has confirmed that it is making a strong bid to host the 37th America's Cup.

The announcement was posted on the website of Real Club Nautico Valencia, in Spanish, of which a translated copy is below. It confirms the points made in a Sail-World story published two days ago.

The translated story follows:

València faces the last challenge to host the 37th America's Cup with just a few days left for the final decision. The Valencian candidacy, developed by Niccolò Porzio di Camporotondo (Founder of H 2 O Riders Science & Management), Alejandro Fliquete and Carlos de Beltrán (President and Manager of the RCN of Valencia respectively) together with Antonio Alquezar (partner of Redstone Advisory Partners), has worked intensively in recent months to present a sustainable project capable of boosting the nautical sector and obtaining a return for the Valencian Community.

The capital of Turia already hosted this nautical competition in 2007, one of the editions with the greatest international projection and qualified as one of the best and most spectacular in the history of the regatta that has 167 years of history, as well as in the 2010 Two compelling arguments since Valencia has the necessary infrastructure, which makes it one of the best options to contest the Hundred Guineas Cup. In this sense, sources from website Sail-World.com assure that València has made "unexpected advances" in recent weeks and they hope to have a good proposal to host the next America's Cup.

Valencia has many points in its favor, in terms of its infrastructure and experience. Its meteorological conditions also stand out, with stable and very good wind ranges, something well known by Team New Zealand, who already described the Gulf of Valencia as one of the best regatta courses, something that plays in their favor as a defender of the qualification.

The great challenge for the Valencian bid is to link the 37th America's Cup with a long-term plan capable of reactivating the maritime infrastructures built for the 32nd America's Cup and positioning Valencia as a new nautical center in the Mediterranean. On this occasion, given that the current bases of the València Marina are occupied by various companies, the investment would be minimal since the participating teams would be located in new, currently empty sites. Likewise, the objective of the candidacy based on environmental sustainability is for the 37 America's Cup to be an accelerator for the nautical industry, professional training and the reactivation of tourism in Valencia, which would place it in a unique position to also have access to Next Generation EU funds.

València 2024 has, right now, the main task of getting the support of the three public institutions: the Government of Spain, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencia City Council, some conversations that as of today are well advanced, leaving little fringes to close, but that they leave the candidacy quite well positioned with respect to Cork with that trump card in their favor in the infrastructure aspect.

Likewise, Spain seeks to stimulate its economic recovery by promoting Marca España to reactivate critical sectors such as tourism, since the teams that will take part in the event and their environment will inject millions of euros into the economy for three years. The Club considers that being the venue for the oldest trophy in sport for the third time, it will help accelerate this recovery and consolidate Valencia within the European hub of the America's Cup. The working group has held talks with the private sector with a very good response to financially support the candidacy.

Another line of work is to collaborate directly with Team New Zealand, owner of the rights to the America's Cup, to offer the best edition, but also to carry out and accelerate the València Maritime Recovery Plan on the basis of which the It is based on the 2021 legacy plan of the candidacy on which it has been working.
