Genoa, the "sailing city" has offered really great sailing conditions for the practice day at the start of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, the sailing tour of Italy.

This event is aiming to offer a lot of different spectacles, starting from a simplified access to sailing which is resumed in three disciplines that can be easily understood by a non-sailing audience: offshore, racing at night inshore, racing in front of the shore and boards, not boats but boards.

The first day has already been a great show as all the teams are taking confidence with their boats starting with the fleet of the ten Figaro Beneteau 3s that are the MMNRT boat for the Double Mixed Offshore European Championship. The kite foiling was showing the athletes' potential and speed while the Diam24 started to attract the attention of the Italian sailing audience because of the speed and manoeuvrability.

It has been great to see Nacra17 Gold Medallist in Tokyo, Ruggero Tita, at the helm of the Guardia di Finanza Diam24.

A great prologue to the start of leg one that will bring the tour to the next step in Rome/Civitavecchia.
