After a highly successful Musto Skiff UK National Championships at Sunderland, the GBR Musto Skiff Class Association has confirmed the final three Open Meetings for their Scottish and Northern Circuit.

This will complete the scheduled seven event series for the 2021 sailing season for the North of England and Scotland region.

The GBR class has now surpassed the halfway point in their Scottish and Northern circuit, with events so far being held at Ullswater, North Berwick, Largs, and Chanonry. The final confirmed events include a date change for the Dalgety Bay Sailing Club Skiff Open Meeting, which has been rescheduled from early September to the later date of 25th to 26th September.

Events coming up and recently re-confirmed are:

  • 28/29 August - Derwent Reservoir SC - Scottish and Northern Skiff Open Meeting NOW CANCELLED
  • 25/26 September - Dalgety Bay SC- Scottish and Northern Skiff National Championship
  • 23/24 October Yorkshire Dales SC - Skiff Open Meeting

Previous events for the region have consistently reached over 20 boats, with several sailors participating in each event in the Scottish and Northern Circuit. As it stands, Jono Shelley has a slim lead from Jamie Hilton, followed by a large chasing pack led by Dan Trotter, Danny Boatman, and Robbie Wilson.

Scottish and Northern Circuit Co-ordinator, Jono Shelly, said: "The series is the best 4 events to count, so there is still time to stake a claim! As always it would be great to see our friends from further South join us for any of these remaining events. The sailing and social are both full on!"

For the latest event schedule for the Musto Skiff class, see the class event page here. Due to the on-going Covid situation, some events may be rescheduled or cancelled at short notice, so class members are urged to always confirm events and details with their local class representative or the sailing club host before committing and travelling.
