Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club is pleased to introduce a new regatta to its annual sailing program. The SheSails Training Regatta is a fantastic opportunity for female sailors to participate in one-design race training onboard the RPAYC fleet of Elliott 7 keelboats, with a focus on having fun, developing skills, and meeting new people.

RPAYC has a strong history with supporting women's sailing, beginning with our introductory sailing courses right through to our Centreboard racing, Youth Development squads, and successful SheSails Twilight Series.

The SheSails Training Regatta will take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August 2021. The event is open to female RPAYC members with sailing experience, and current and past participants of RPAYC Discover Sailing courses. RPAYC courses include the 4-week Start Crewing, Start Helming and Start Skippering courses. Following this, any other participants will be invited to enter.

Participating sailors can choose to form their own team with other event participants, or request to be allocated to a team and meet new crewmates!

On Saturday, participants will join RPAYC coaches for a day of on-shore and on-water training, with a focus on developing crew work, spinnaker skills and gaining an understanding of racecourse strategy! On Sunday, teams will participate in some short course racing, with support from RPAYC coaches and mentors.

For more information, and the Notice of Race (NoR) and Sailor Registration, please visit the event website: www.revolutionise.com.au/trpayachtclub/events/102478

The SheSails Training Regatta is also the perfect opportunity for teams to prepare themselves for the 'Steering the Course' Women's Sailing Festival to take place in October. RPAYC will host a one-design regatta race day on Sunday 10 October 2021 as part of this World Sailing initiative. More information about the Steering the Course Festival will be available soon.
