eSolent, a dedicated dealer of ePropulsion electric marine motors based in Northney Marina, is supporting the new Sea Angling Classic fishing and environmental challenge taking place 23 - 25 July at the marina on Hayling Island.

This unique high-profile fishing event is more than a competition and aims to promote and introduce fishing to younger generations with Fishing Academy sessions. All competitors will be involved in multiple beach clean ups and the event will provide vital research data on all fish species caught during the competition, before they are released back into the sea.

"We have a passion for the sea and all forms of boating and watersports. With the ePropulsion range of electric outboard and pod drive motors, we are delighted to be supporting the Sea Angling Classic and the wider green agenda," explains Ed Phillips, Director at eSolent. "We believe electric boating is a great option for anglers, whether on a kayak, a small fishing boat or powering a large motor vessel and are already working closely with local amateur and professional fishermen. ePropulsion electric motors are quiet, clean and efficient. They are kinder to our oceans, with no risk of fuel spills and have no ongoing running costs."

eSolent are donating an ePropulsion Vaquita electric kayak motor towards the generous prize table. Perfect for anglers who like to fish from their kayak, this near silent motor allows them to paddle and travel further to find fish and makes getting home easier against winds and currents. Compact and light, weighing just 4 kg, it has 8 speeds and will run for 5 hours at half speed.

Ed adds, "We love fishing in Chichester Harbour from our kayaks. With the motor set at level 2 it is perfect for trolling and excellent for catching mackerel. My best catch was five at once - I'd motored up a creek against the tide. It was so quiet and peaceful and then suddenly there were 5 mackerel on the line starting to pull the kayak along.

Ross Honey, founder of Angling Spirit and Sea Angling Classic adds, "We are delighted to welcome eSolent and introduce the ePropulsion electric motors to our Sea Angling Classic competition and conservation initiative, which aims to boost interest in fishing as well as vital marine research and preserving our ocean environments."
