Harken Inc. announced the promotion of Harken Australia’s Managing Director, Grant Pellew, to additionally serve as Managing Director of its Harken New Zealand operations.

This decision is part of a larger reorganization to centralize leadership between Harken’s Australian and Kiwi markets. Pellew replaces outgoing Harken veteran Robbie Young, who after 15 years as Hydraulics Manager and NZ Managing Director, is retiring from his career at Harken.

Over the past year, Harken New Zealand has invested significantly in a purpose-built new retail space that also serves as its national distribution headquarters. Located in West Haven Marina in downtown Auckland, the new facility is positioned to serve the largest marina in the country as well as the entire national marketplace.

The decision to name Pellew as joint MD for both Harken Australia and New Zealand is a natural progression for Harken. Pellew has a proven track record of leadership at Harken and growth within the Australian marketplace.

Pellew is a trusted and natural people person with a strong technical background that will help him be successful in growing the team and ensuring their ability to serve the market to the high standards for which Harken is known globally.

“The promotion of Grant and further reorganization are more than just the nomination of a new Managing Director,” explains Bill Goggins, CEO of Harken Inc. “We’re planning to create strong connections between similar roles with both offices and present opportunities for people to grow and better serve our customers.”

Furthermore, it was decided that Harken NZL will immediately commence developing a search for a new Auckland-based Sales Manager for the Kiwi market, to help leverage the new investment of its retail facility, new growing industrial business, and service of its ongoing marine markets.
