This meeting was the first Midland Area Double Chine open since October 2019 due to the pandemic. Barnt Green SC welcomed a small fleet of Enterprises to their water on a hot sunny day. The was light and variable from roughly from the north west.

The first race race saw Gordon and Rose Padmore make the best start however it was Paul Young and Jan Kimber (Midland SC) who rounded the first windward mark in the lead. These two boats exchanged the lead several times throughout the race. Gordon and Rose then open up a lead, however the variable conditions allowed Paul and Jan to catch up again. In a close finish Gordon and Rose held on to win by a couple of boat lengths.

Race two was sailed back to back. This time Gordon and Rose led at the windward mark, however Paul and Jan overtook downwind. After a few exchanges of the lead, Paul and Jan then held the lead for most of the race, however as the finish approached Gordon and Rose closed them down. Paul and Jan held on to to win by a couple of boat lengths.

After a baked potato lunch the third and fourth races were held back to back. Race three saw Paul and Jan get a good start and lead round the first mark. After a few battles Paul and Jan secured a lead that they held to the finish.

With the overall result still to be decided on the last race a close start saw Rachel Heesom and Beverley Howe (Nottingham SC) get a great start and lead to the first mark. On the next leg both Gordon and Rose and Paul and Jan overtook. On the next lap Paul and Jan started to build a comfortable lead which they held to the finish to win the meeting.
