420 Lupo Cup at Circolo Vela Torbole

by Elena Giolai 19 Jun 2021 01:57 NZST

The 2021 420 Lupo Cup concluded sunday at Circolo Vela Torbole, Lake Garda in Italy.? It was a special event to all the participants cause they were celebrating 30 years of brotherhood between Bayerisher Yacht Club and Circolo Vela Torbole, organizing together this 420 class youth regatta.

It was a fantastic sailing party, with lot of friendship and fun. All 12 races scheduled were played during the four days of competition. The event was specially important for the German teams cause it was their trial for the next 2021 420 World Championships in Sanremo.

The weather conditions were initially variable in the first two days, with light to medium winds that were enough for sailors to test their skills on water. In the last two days the sun became warmer and brought a thermal breeze raising conditions to 16-17 knots.

Lilli Zelmer & Vincent Bahr GER dominated the fleet with authority and won the championship with only 20 points, 50 points in front of U17 boy's champions and second overall Severin Gericke & Xaver Schwarz GER.

Hannah Lanzinger & Franziska Steinlein GER were the Women's champions, completing the overall podium on third with 75 units.

Valentina Steilein & Adolph Lea GER were Men/Mixed U17 champions in 16th.

Oscar Pousche & Luca Coslovich ITA were the best among the Italian fleet, wrapping the event in eleventh.
