The recent SailGP Inspire Racing program run in conjunction with the main SailGP F50 racing has kicked off its European tour in style.

Held in light to moderate conditions that rarely moved above 5-6 knots it was fantastic to get the racing in, in front of large SailGP crowds. The whole WASZP community should be very proud of this program as it is the pinnacle event for our youth sailors.

With great coverage all through the SailGP broadcast and the finals races commentated by the lead SailGP commentators, it is an unprecedented opportunity for our U21 sailors all around the globe.

The winner of the Italian event was local Zeno Valerio and second place went to one of our young WASZP stars Richard Schultheis from Malta in what was a sensational battle of two incredibly talented young sailors.

We now turn our attention to Plymouth and applications have been coming in, we are looking forward to seeing our two wildcard slots being filled at next weeks UK WASZP Nationals. With applications closing on the 18th of June you still have time to get yours in and be part of something special. The Inspire program starts your talent identification process to be noticed by the 8 F50 teams, get yourself on the radar and apply today!
