An incredibly successful Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show has seen demand for Smuggler Marine’s range of inflatable RIBs and amphibious boats surge.

One of the most successful shows in years and displaying a broad range of models, Smuggler took seven orders, bolstering the production in the Henderson factory.

With the confirmed sales from the boat show, Smuggler now currently have no less than 10 Strata 800 amphibious RIB models, on order, as well as over a dozen other models between 5 metres and 7 metres from their popular inflatable RIB range.

“The boat show was fantastic for us – with record levels of enquiry and confirmed sales. We’re experiencing significant sales growth currently, not only in our larger amphibious boat range, but across the range and into our smaller inflatable RIB range also,” says Smuggler Marine Managing Director, David Pringle.

“Over a year into the Covid-19 pandemic, there is still huge demand for our amphibious inflatable RIB boats. Sales for amphibious Smugglers are currently outnumbering our standard non amphibious RIB by three to one.”

With the surging sales growth, Smuggler Marine are looking to bolster their production capabilities and are on the lookout for new staff.

“We’re growing and with that we need more staff. Right now we’re looking to hire experienced fibreglass laminators and boat builders to join our production team.”

“2019 was a great year for sales, 2020 was even better, and almost halfway into 2021 we think it will be exceptional.”
