The sun is shining, the temperature is rising, the breeze is getting warmer. On the whole, the spring season encourages outdoor activities; and the Youngsters J/70 Circuit really wanted to be a part of it.

The 2021 sailing season kicked-off with the Youngsters Open at four different harbors. Four sailing clubs were invited to bring teams of 4-5 youth between the ages of 13-20 to try out keelboat sailing on the Danish Sailing League's fleet of J/70s.

The goal of the Youngsters J/70 Circuit was to bring the joy of sailing and cool onshore activities at each harbor, in collaboration with the youth programs based at Danish sailing clubs. All of this was possible with fantastic support from the Hempel Foundation, which ensures that concepts like the Youngsters J/70 Circuit can be hosted at various clubs throughout Denmark.

The initiative was met with resounding success, with all events fully subscribed by enthusiastic teams of youth sailors! The following clubs participated in the program:

  • Royal Danish Yacht Club - Friday 30 April
  • Sejlklubben Limfjorden - Sunday 2 May
  • Sletten Boat Club - Sunday 2 May
  • Kaløvig Bådelaug - Thursday 6 May
