Well-known and expert sailor Ben McGrane has joined Hyde Sails as One Design Manager after a long spell at Harken. Ben has achieved considerable success in dinghies as diverse as the Merlin Rocket, International 14, Contender, 505 and Mirror as well as keelboats such as the XOD and SB20.
Hyde Sails intends to focus on a limited number of classes using Ben's expertise to create race winning, quality sails.
On the appointment Ben said, "It's exciting to be joining Hyde Sails, they have a strong brand and a history of achieving in a variety of One Design classes. Having used their sails for a number of years in numerous fleets I've had first hand experience of the company's design and production capabilities, I'm looking forward to being on board as we now look to expand on the recent successes seen in classes like the Fireball, Flying 15 and Solo."
