SportsBoat World seeks a new full time Operations Manager / CEO, male or female. The company has a very healthy order book with many customers worldwide ordering new boats and spares.

The job is suitable for a keen sailor, professional and well organised, with boating business experience, ideally a good salesperson, who can handle all aspects of the business. As well as managing all the Sales, Administration, Bookkeeping, Shipping and Distribution, he/she is required to take part in a lot of SB20 sailing and travel to the major Championships worldwide. It's a very complete and challenging job, both varied and rewarding. Salary and Benefits negotiable.

Job Role

The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following abilities:

  • Is a good sailor
  • Has some engineering and boat maintenance skills
  • Can run a company singlehanded
  • Has a business background
  • Is a sales person at heart
  • Understands how to keep customers happy
  • Excellent at communication with clients in a timely manner
  • Is measured and polite with costumers
  • Can organise the shipment of boats and spares worldwide
  • Is capable of liaising with the Builder and supervising new boat builds
  • Can attend the World Council and UK Class video conference meetings
  • Will be pro-active towards the future of Sportsboat World
  • Can contribute to the continuing improvement of the SB20 and future Sportsboat World products
  • Has very general good organisational skills
  • Can drive and look after the SBW 8m RIB
The role is ideal for someone who wants to:
  • Sail the SB20 on a regular basis
  • Can go and compete worldwide in a SB20 and offer an SBW service at important regattas
  • Be prepared to drive to regattas with trailer and spares
  • Be prepared to drive to the Builders to have meetings and deliver equipment
  • Go to boat shows with or without exhibiting a SB20
Languages are a bonus. Marketing and Social Media is managed separately.
