The organizers of Antigua Sailing Week announce a virtual fundraising auction as part of their week of virtual activities being held in lieu of the recent cancellation.

In support of the effort, Minister of Tourism Charles Fernandez had this to say, "We are extremely delighted that the brand Antigua Sailing Week will be kept alive in virtual form this year despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. This auction also provides the possibility for visitors to get a taste of the unique experiences offered on island that make Antigua and Barbuda stand out globally. We remain committed to keep ASW "front of mind" for all enthusiasts until 2022 when we return bigger and better than ever before!"

In conjunction with the Antigua Barbuda Hotel Association, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and individual local businesses, this auction highlights the range of activities available in Antigua & Barbuda year round - on and off the water, with donated items running the gamut from the sublime to extravagant.

"Antigua and Barbuda is open and we welcome travellers to visit our country and immerse themselves in incredible destination experiences in spaces that are #sunseasafe in keeping with our covid-19 protocols", said CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Colin C. James.

Leisure and active experiences available range from weekends at Antigua Village hotel to stylish lunches at Catherine's Café to wakeboarding with One Love Academy. More extravagant experiences include lunch at Nobu Barbuda with transportation from Antigua to the venue via Calvin Air Helicopters and a day of golf with master cricketer Sir Richie Richardson.

"As long-time supporters and partners of Antigua Sailing Week, we want to see this fundraiser succeed, so that Sailing Week can continue for years to come!" says Rachel Rocks, PR Manager of Rocks Group.

The available auction items will be listed on a dedicated page on the Antigua Sailing Week website www.sailingweek.com/auction. The items will appear at 4pm on April 25th when bidding starts.

Audiences tuned into the virtual streaming event Sailing Week Sunday, can learn more about the final list of items. Bidding ends May 1 at 12pm AST.
