The Blaze class is ready and rearing to go for the 2021 season, and it looks promising for the class with six main events already scheduled almost 50 sailors entered for the 2021 National Championships.

The Hartley Boats Blaze National Championships is scheduled for 11th - 13th June.

Paignton Sailing Club is once again hosting the Blaze National Championships - with the class last visiting in 2016. The Blaze is one of the most popular boats sailed at the club, and with over 45 sailors already signed up for the event it is expected that the class could break the record and get to 60 entries.

Hartley Boats have announced their continued support for the class with an amazing sponsorship package for 2021. Offering a discount on a new sail, to entries received before the 31/3/21, as well as (covid permitting) some form of food and entertainment (TBC). If this is not possible, other arrangements will be made.

The Blaze National Championships and travellers kindly sponsored by:

  • Hartley Boats - a family run boat building business based in Derby. Current builder of the MK4 Blaze.
  • Allen - UK manufacturer of performance sailing hardware.
  • Rooster - Sailing clothing, Kit that will keep you going.
  • ADM Sails - East coast sailmaker. Known in the class for the outstanding after-market Blaze trampolines.
  • The Old Salt Loft - A specialist design and production company producing branded products, corporate clothing, poster printing, embroidered items, and even bespoke wallpaper.
2021 Blaze events and traveller series

To be included in the overall traveller series you need to have competed at 3 Blaze Class Association events, one of which must be the National or Inland Championships. Your best 3 events will count.

The Class Association has invested in some smashing new trophies, one for each of the regional events, and thanks to our generous sponsors there will be plenty of great prizes up for grabs, including prizes for polyester boats (Mk1 & 2).

  • Burghfield Blaze Open - 24th April - Burghfield Sailing Club

  • Northern Championships - 15th & 16th May - Dee Sailing Club

  • South Coast Championships - 22nd & 23rd May - Warsash Sailing Club
