After a difficult and unpredictable season the International Moth Class Association of Australia is gearing up to finally hold their National titles for season '20/21.

The event was originally to be held in January in Victoria, but with uncertainty in the air in the lead up to the event the decision was made to postpone the nationals. With all Australian state borders currently open, the Association is hoping this good fortune can hold allowing the event to be held right at the end of the sailing season.

The National Titles are planned for April 10-14th at Wangi RSL Amateur Sailing Club. This special event is being held outside of the regular nationals rotation, with Wangi nominated as a long time supporter of the class and a good central location for most sailors.

The focus is on getting some quality racing in, with 4 days of racing planned over a 5 day period. To combat potentially difficult conditions at that time of year the lay day will be scheduled in the days leading up to the event taking the most favourable forecast.

To help out any sailors that are uncertain about the event, the association has also promised that if a competitor is unable to attend the event due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions, the competitor will entitled to a full refund of their entry fee. Should travel restrictions come into effect during the event, a partial refund may also be considered based on individual circumstances.

With this being the first major national moth class regatta held since the highly successful 2019 Chandler Macleod Moth Worlds held in Perth, anticipation is building to see who's been working hardest in the shed while they've been working from home!

The Notice of Race and entry form has been published on the IMCAA's new look website.
