The Andrew Labor Government has rebuilt the popular Tooradin Jetty to make it safer and more accessible for boaters, fishers and visitors.

Works to rebuild the jetty are now complete, including new piles, new timber deck, beams, and recycled plastic fenders.

A new floating pontoon and ramp have been installed to replace the old low landing, which makes it easier for people of all abilities to use.

The upgrades ensure the jetty remains a popular choice for commercial operators, recreational boaters, anglers and sightseers who visit Tooradin every summer.

This project is part of the Labor Government's $2.7 billion Building Works economic stimulus package, which is supporting Victorian jobs as the state rebuilds from the coronavirus pandemic and delivering a long-term boost for the fishing and tourism industries.

Other piers and ports projects under this funding package include $24 million to upgrade Portarlington Harbour, improve facilities at Portland and Port Welshpool, rebuild Altona Pier and undertake important repairs at Middle Brighton Pier, Old Flinders Jetty and the Queenscliff South Pier lifeboat shed.

Minister for Fishing and Boating Melissa Horne:

"The completion of these vital works will come as welcome news for the local community and visitors eager to use the popular Tooradin Jetty. It's great to know these upgrades make it more accessible and help keep people safe in the water."

"We are investing $24 million through our Pier and Jetty Maintenance program to repair and upgrade piers and jetties across the state, while providing an economic injection into regional communities."

Member for Eastern Victoria Jane Garrett:

"This new jetty will improve fishing and boating opportunities in our community - creating a safer, more accessible space for both locals and visitors."
