The 2021 edition has crossed the 70 boat mark with 72 registrants as of this afternoon. Although we may see changes to the scratch sheet as the event approaches, the list of diverse home ports includes the UK and Germany, Texas, Colorado, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and a large number of boats from the Delmarva peninsula and New England.

We are excited to see that the Coasties (United States Coast Guard Academy) are back with two entries this year and the Midshipmen (United States Naval Academy) currently have 5 registered. Over a dozen entries are listed with a First Time skipper so the Event Committee is reviewing sailing resumes and yacht information to assist those new to the race with everything from the handicapping process to berthing in Newport.

Amongst the fleet is a newly restored Running Tide. Read the full press release here about the boat's triumphant return.

The second installment of our "What to Expect" Seminars - Safety Equipment for Vessel and Crew - will take place on Saturday, March 20th, at 1000 EST. Register here. It will be lead by Jim Praley and Bob Fox. Read their bios here. If you missed the seminar in February on Rigging, Sails, and Electronics, you can watch the recording on the Seminars page of the A2N website.

Dates have been set and registration is open for the third and fourth sessions of the seminar series. Medical Aid at Sea and What to Include in Your Offshore First Aid Kit is on Saturday, April 17, and Navigation, Routing, and Weather Forecasting is on Saturday, May 22. Both begin at 1000 EST.

Registration is open for the 2021 Annapolis to Newport Race on Yachtscoring. This will be the 38th biennial edition of the Race, which originated in 1947. Starts will take place on Friday, June 4th and Saturday, June 5th.
