Born in October 2020, the Yacht Club Isole di Toscana is preparing to face an intensive sailing season: from April to October, several events will see different classes of one-design yachts among the most prestigious in the world challenging each other in the Maremma waters.

Compliance with health regulations is the first requirement for the Yacht Club team, that is already at work to identify procedures and protocols, to be declined, based on current regulations. Attention to the environment and the commitment to organizing eco-sustainable events are the other great prerequisites of the 2021 season.

At Marina di Scarlino everything is ready to welcome high-level international sailing events.

"A season like the one we are about to host is the confirmation of the excellent work done in recent years, thanks to the synergy of the Municipality of Scarlino, the Nautor's Swan Global Service Scarlino shipyard and the Marina di Scarlino with its Resort. We are pleased that the sport of sailing - explains the General Manager of Marina di Scarlino, Stefan Neuhaus - represents a pivotal element for local economic development and for the growth of quality international tourist flows. "

The racing season of the yacht Club will start with a weekend dedicated to Swan One Design (9-11 April), during which about twenty crews between ClubSwan 50 and ClubSwan 36 will test their technical skills in the waters off Marina di Scarlino, to warm up for The Nations League 2021 circuit, which will see its start in the same waters.

The calendar will continue with the first stage of the Melges World League, which from this year will see the three top classes of the Melges shipyard united in a single event. Melges 32 (15/17 April), Melges 20 (16/18 April) and Melges 14 (17/18 April) will attract large fleets of sailors from all over Europe. About 50 boats are expected, divided into three classes.

To close an intense month of April, the selection for the World Championships of the Optimist class (23-25 April) which will see 160 fierce young athletes battle it out to conquer the coveted qualification.

The month of May will represent the highlight of the activity of the Yacht Club, which will see the organization of the Swan Tuscany Challenge from 25 to 29, a stage of The Nations League circuit, which for the third time has chosen the waters of this wonderful gulf of Maremma. The two classes, ClubSwan 50 and ClubSwan 36, will attract about 30 crews to the Marina di Scarlino, deploying the most famous sailors in the world on the starting line.

During the summer, the Yacht Club Isole di Toscana will work for sailing school, integrating the tourist offer in the name of sport and leisure while respecting the environment.

The gulf will again be in the spotlight in September, when it will be the turn of two consecutive stages of the much awaited TF35 circuit. This will be the debut on salt waters of the latest generation foil catamarans, which will be able to give emotions and adrenaline, challenging each other by "flying" over the Maremma waters. The two events will take place on 9/12 and 23/26 September.
