Rooster has been appointed by boat hire and yacht charter platform, Borrow A Boat, to lead a comprehensive PR programme to drive brand awareness and increase bookings.

Founded in 2017 by sailing enthusiast and entrepreneur, Matt Ovenden, Borrow A Boat has access to over 35,000 vessels in 65+ countries, and offers peer-to-peer listings as well as boat rental through traditional charter companies. Customers can choose from a variety of vessels, including sailboats, motorboats, riverboats, RIBs, catamarans, gulets, luxury yachts and superyachts.

On a mission to make boating more accessible, affordable, flexible, and inclusive, Borrow A Boat is closely supported by the boating industry and is a vocal member of leading industry body, British Marine. The company also pioneered peer-to-peer boat charters, helping boat owners generate extra income from their vessel and reducing the high costs of boat ownership, including maintenance costs and marina fees.

Rooster has been tasked with delivering a comprehensive PR programme, focused on generating top-tier online coverage to help drive SEO, increase traffic and, ultimately, bookings. The agency will utilise its strong relationships with travel and lifestyle media, along with specialist yachting and boating titles, to get press on board with Borrow A Boat's unique proposition.

CEO & founder of Borrow A Boat, Matt Ovenden, said: "We were impressed by Rooster's experience of working with peer-to-peer businesses; their expertise will be key to drive that all-important media endorsement. We've been without PR representation since 2019, and now is the time to amplify Borrow A Boat in the UK.

"As a business, we want to dispel some of the myths around boating - it's expensive, it's elite, booking a sailing trip is complicated - and encourage more people to try a sailing holiday in the UK or further afield. We're confident that with Rooster on board we can broaden our appeal and help us reach the right audiences."

James Brooke, Managing Director of Rooster, said: "As a sailing fan myself, Borrow A Boat ticks all the right boxes - the company is revolutionising the boating industry and making it easier than ever to get more people onto the water. We're excited to be steering their PR at this important growth point for Borrow A Boat."

Borrow A Boat joins the agency's travel and lifestyle client roster which includes Flight Centre, Visit St. Pete Clearwater, Camptoo and Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts.
