UK Cherub (70th Birthday) Nationals sponsored by Rooster and Allen

by James Ruddiman 1 Mar 2021 03:06 PST 6-9 July 2021

The UK Cherub Class Association is pleased to announce both Rooster and Allen as our title sponsors for this year's UK Cherub Nationals being held on the Olympic waters of Weymouth. Both have donated very generous prize hauls so there really isn't a better time to join the Cherub fleet.

Rooster will also be sponsoring our open circuit for the year with goodies lined up across our events.

Allen has been a long term partner of the class with many boats being fitted out with their winning hardware and we are thankful for their continued support of our class and look forward to working with them throughout the year. Prizes include Ratchet Blocks, Rashies and Gift Vouchers.

Rooster and indeed, Mr. Cockerill, have been seen at many Cherub/4000 shared events over the years but this is the first time that Rooster has sponsored us. Not only have they donated a generous prize haul, including Dry Bags, Aqua Fleeces and Ponchos, they are also producing fantastic race bibs celebrating our 70th birthday, to be worn at Nationals that will be provided by the Class Association.

Our Nationals are being held between the 6th & 9th July following the Weymouth Dinghy Regatta; some chance to get a bit of extra practice. Not only will it be four days of excellent racing but great socials and party to celebrate. Plans for a measurement day on the Monday following the regatta weekend, Tuesday will be our AGM, Wednesday will see a BBQ and Beach Olympics and Thursday will see our Formal Dinner and Birthday Celebrations! Look out for more information about the Celebration dinner coming soon, open to all current and ex Cherub sailors, we can't promise a food fight with the Mayor, but we can promise a great night.

To top this off the class will be providing post sailing refreshments for all sailors when we come ashore.

There really is no better time to join the class with a few boats on the market, and a number more being dug out of sheds and garages ready for this big birthday year, if you want to get involved contact admin@uk-cherub.org

Keep an eye out on our Facebook, Instagram and our Website for more updates to get your heart racing.
