Still confused about Covid restrictions and what that means for sailing in the coming months?

To make it easy for Newport to Ensenada racers, which will sail April 23, 2021, we've updated information on our frequently asked questions page here. Some of the questions addressed include "What about Covid 19?", "How a 2020 credit is applied to the 2021 race," and "What else is new for N2E 2021?".

While the NOSA board is proceeding with plans for the traditional N2E Ensenada finish, we understand the unpredictability of the ongoing health crisis and the varying levels of comfort that our skippers, crew, and volunteers may experience.

As previously announced, backup plans include having Ensenada competitors join San Diego competitors on a longer, more challenging course around the Coronado Islands.

Information also helps racers decide which N2E course might be best for their boat and crew and includes details important to racers - like a visit to customs is not required after circumnavigating the Coronado's and that the entry fee includes a YB tracker.

In anticipation of what this means for racers, the NOSA team has been actively planning alternatives for racers - from securing slips and hotel accommodations - to make the switch as easy as possible. If necessary.

"We're making the best of a pretty challenging situation and really want to help get people out on the water and race this year," said Vice Commodore Administration Mary Bacon.

For more information on the current plans, get updates, or to review the Race ABCs before signing up for N2E 2021, please go to nosa.org. And of course - don't forget to register!

Also, in preparation for the race, NOSA's annual "Racing and Winning at Night" seminars will be held later this month and in March. Details are forthcoming.
