SYR launches into the marine recruitment sector

by Annie Nicholson 2 Feb 2021 21:18 NZDT

February sees a new specialist player enter the superyacht recruitment industry - SYR was created by Ed Ewer to focus on a range of roles ashore, as well as supporting crew in transitioning to shore based roles.

Ed Ewer, Founder and Managing Director of SYR said: "Our aim is to become a leader in recruiting for the superyacht, high performance and innovative maritime technology markets. This comes as a result of a lot of thought, a little dreaming, and my own vision of how recruitment should be approached for these unique sectors.

Introducing a new level of depth to the recruitment process for all involved, SYR will be able to give both our clients and candidates the clearest vision and advice throughout the hiring process - based on both industry and brand-specific data.

Working across executive search, office, shop floor and shipyard-based roles, SYR will offer versatile recruitment, bringing a diverse range of roles and will provide an excellent insight into these key market sectors. Our approach is simple, and this will help us stand out from the crowd. From the shop floor to the boardroom, we will be your recruitment partner, whatever your requirement. Our knowledge is your advantage."

Having started out in the superyacht industry recruiting skilled trades roles, Ed then progressed onto executive searches. He added: "The skills required for each role fascinated me. Over the years I built up a wealth of industry connections and gained in depth knowledge of the various roles across all levels of seniority. What really appealed to me was matching the right skill set to the particular role and the 'team fit'."

SYR is a global maritime recruitment agency that will source exceptional talent across three key areas: superyachts, high performance craft and innovative maritime technology. The company differentiates itself by combining specialist knowledge across technical and commercial roles both onshore and onboard. Whether you are a yacht sales broker, a maritime engineer in a shipyard, or a crew member looking to take your next step ashore, SYR has proven expertise.
