Moody 41 DS

The world-renowned Moody yard presents its new deck saloon yacht: the Moody 41 DS. It has just voted winner of Cruising Yacht of the Year for 2020 by the British Yachting Awards.

In proven tradition, but equipped with latest technologies and design innovations, this unique yacht stands for a luxurious ambience and sense of space, usually only seen on multihulls.

"Living on one level" has always been Moody's trademark and is now led to perfection with the DS41. Totally barrier-free, and with an elegant deckhouse, which 360-degree panoramic glazing provides a high-exclusive living comfort. Saloon and cockpit are easily combined with the space saving 'Patio push and sliding door': uncompromising top design meets aesthetic extravagance!

While the navigation table also serves as the interior helmstand, up to 5 persons can be seated around the huge saloon table. Below deck the exquisite owners-cabin offers an ensuite bathroom, a three-door wardrobe as well as huge windows in deck and hull, providing the room with a maximum of natural light. The guest cabin can also have its own bathroom. In line with our finest traditions the 41 DS is setting benchmarks for safe and sporty sailing. The walk-around deck, originally developed by Moody, high freeboard, and the double forestay guarantee safety and comfort, while the high rig together with the sailplan of 83m2 offer best conditions for an impressive sailing performance.

Windcraft has received unprecedented interest in the new Moody 41 DS with the order books already filling up and the first Australian delivery scheduled for 2021.

Dehler 38SQ

Dehler is pleased to present its new 38SQ model, dynamically developed out of the successful Dehler 38.

At Dehler, SQ traditionally stands for Speed and Quality, and thus for perfect sailing characteristics and modern design. The new Dehler 38SQ has been given a new colour and light concept, a more varied interior layout, as well as powerful improvements to the rig and cockpit - all while keeping the boat as simple to use and fun as ever.

Deck Fold-out footrests at the helm provide a comfortable and safe foothold when sailing to windward. The new bathing platform is lighter and easier to operate with an integrated bathing ladder that features a foldout handrail and large steps for comfortable bathing fun.

In addition, the 38SQ can be further upgraded with sporty designer wheels at the helm, self-tailing race winches, and a removable throttle.

Rig: The bowsprit has an integrated anchor arm and non-slip surface, making it safer to climb on and off the boat when moored bow-to, and provides an advanced tack point for gennaker or Code 0 sails.

Dehler offers the iconic squarehead mainsail as an option, as used on all high-tech racing yachts. With its greater efficiency, better trim and less heeling moment, this pro sail is also ideal for cruising. The backstays for the square-head rig can be easily trimmed by winch courtesy of the flip-flop blocks. The flush mounted traveller running the entire width of the cockpit allows 100% control of the mainsail. For the very first time, all sails are provided by Quantum, including the newly developed Tri-radial AC5 and TP6 membrane sails.

Interior: For more natural light below deck, the hull windows have been enlarged and two additional windows cut into the coachhouse roof. New worktop colours, and a more modern seating area complete the sense of greater space in the saloon. The shower cabin has also been upgraded with a clear, high-gloss design that is easy to clean and maintain.

The interior configuration options are also new: two versions are available for the forward section, saloon and aft. Whether a luxurious island bed, chart table or a second guest cabin, the interior design of the Dehler 38SQ is more flexible for the customer than ever before. What unites all cabins and the saloon is the much brighter atmosphere.

Pure drinking water and cleaner seas from the optional filter systems for fresh water and grey water, drinking water quality and sustainability can be combined. While the drinking water filter guarantees the highest quality and eliminates the need for plastic bottles on board, the grey water filter system ensures only clean waste water leaves the ship.

Privilege 580

Luxury catamaran builder Privilège has unveiled a new version of its Signature 580, featuring even more onboard comfort and better stowage for bluewater sailors, with hull #1 launched for the first time just before Christmas.

The major innovation to the new Signature 580 "Épure" is to offer three huge exterior lockers in place of the forward cockpit. This storage can be converted into a comfortable sunbathing area by simply laying down cushions, which are easy to stow again when heavy weather is on the horizon. With no forward cockpit, there is no need for a door through from the saloon, creating even more living space internally.

This also allows for uninterrupted glazing around the chart table, which gives better visibility and lends the boat an even more dynamic look. Of course, the Signature 580 range features an optimised hull shape with an inverted bow, greater flare and a raised forefoot. The benefits are more lift at the bow, especially at speed, making for better trim and more buoyancy running into waves.

This in turn lightens the steering and reduces the effort required by the helmsperson or the autopilot. Bluewater sailors will especially appreciate the lighter rudder loads and lower power consumption that this provides. But anyone who takes pleasure from the sensation of helming under sail will feel the benefits.

Both versions of the Privilège 580 Signature are optimised for a maximum of comfort and seaworthiness. At the stern, elegant stairs lead to the bathing platforms, while the flybridge becomes a real private terrace with direct access through the helm station.

Being a Privilège catamaran, there is a world of layout choices that make every boat truly unique. Move the galley down to the starboard hull or up to the spacious saloon; decide on the number of cabins; specify crew quarters. And if a customer can't find the solution they're looking for in the lengthy options list, Privilège can create it for them - from a humidor to a dog kennel, the in-house design team can accommodate almost any wishes. Whatever the configuration, every boat boasts a first-class interior, finished in the finest handcrafted materials. It's all part of the attention to detail for which Privilège is renowned.
