It's a very special and certainly unforgettable Christmas for Boris this year on board Seaexplorer - Yacht Club de Monaco! He is currently sailing in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, around 1000 nautical miles south-east of New Zealand and some 3600 nautical miles west of Cape Horn. Boris has been doing a fantastic race so far, defending 4th place for several days and being in 6th place right now.

Not only does his remote location makes this year's Christmas celebrations so unique. Boris will literally be "on the move" all the time, changing sails, doing manoeuvres, planning his routing, checking the boat settings. Always keeping an eye on the wind instruments and the boat speed on the display, while sitting at the navigation station and eating his Cassoulet, a traditional French stew, which he has saved for the special evening. And fine chocolate for dessert! In terms of decoration, he has candles on board and attached LED fairy lights to the coachroof offering some Christmas feeling below deck. On top of that, the team and his wife have hidden some gifts for him...

"So, how will you be celebrating Christmas Eve, Boris? Have you "reserved" a special Christmas hour to relax a bit?", asked a journalist during the press conference this morning. Boris answered: "Well, I will take things as they come, really. I will certainly have time to enjoy the moment, look out to sea, take this environment in. But I think it might be difficult to calm down, come to rest, given that the wind is so unstable here at the moment. Sometimes I prefer to continue to sail attentively and actively to be able to react quickly to possible wind shifts and make sure the boat goes well instead of just laying down." We all wish you a Merry Christmas, Boris!
