To keep construction of our yachts largely in-house, Vanquish is moving to even larger new premises at the start of 2021.

Covering an impressive surface area of 5,000 square metres, the new yard in Marknesse is found in an exceptionally practical location. There's a direct connection to the Ketelmeer lake where sea trials can be held and we'll also have easy access to the IJsselmeer lake and our commissioning facility in Urk. The decision to move was necessitated by the ongoing growth in orders and Vanquish will now have a facility which provides the very latest features that a mature yard requires.

As this Update is written we're optimising the routing process, layout and automation. Another focal point is making the location as COVID-secure as possible as we expect to start production on 4 January. This will ensure safety for our top-notch builders and engineers who always put quality at the heart of how they think and will now have an even better environment in which to showcase their talents.

Other highlights of the new premises include an impressive area for the machine and work prep department, a spacious 'closed' warehouse, a crane capacity of up to 50 tonnes, a slipway trailer and a wide range of internal lifting equipment. There is a dedicated section for our office staff and a large canteen on-site for the entire Vanquish crew.

A separate suite of offices and a cafeteria have been set aside for project managers and subcontractors, and there's lots of parking space for all who visit. Last - but most certainly in this case not least - we are creating a luxury reception area in which to welcome our clients. The new yard is just over an hour's drive from Amsterdam Schiphol airport or you can use the private facilities of nearby Lelystad airport.
