The 11th Hour Racing Team crew experienced some extreme offshore conditions earlier this month on our training run from Newport, Rhode Island to Concarneau, France.
The trip across the Atlantic in conditions more akin to the Southern Ocean made for great sailing as we continue training for The Ocean Race.
After weaving downwind through two massive North Atlantic lows, with over 50+ knots of wind in each, the team ran straight into an unavoidable third that exploded off Cape Finisterre to greet them in the notorious Bay of Biscay.
Media crew member Amory Ross (USA) paints a picture of life onboard our IMOCA in his report from the grueling transatlantic trip.
