J/Boats Australia will be displaying the award-winning J/88 and J/99 at the Two Handed Seminar at Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), Newport (just north of Sydney) on the 21st November.
The multi award winning J/99, the only boat in its category to win:
- British Yachting Awards - Best Performance Boat
- SAIL Magazine Best Boats Award - Performance Boat 31'+
- Sailing World Boat of the Year Award - Best Crossover.
Global race results are equally impressive whether sailing the J/99 in short handed mode or fully crewed - this easy to sail, fast and very versatile boat takes the J/Boats 'all-purpose' philosophy and build quality to the next level. With almost 70 units sold already in its short life the J/99 is proving to be a world wide success story.
The 29 ft J/88 (previous winner of Boat of the Year- Best One Design) has also amassed a very impressive race record including winning the 290nm Mackinac Solo Challenge and 2nd in the single handed Transpac. The J/88 has also been selected for the USA Two Handed Mixed Offshore Worlds Qualifier- precursor to 2024 Olympics.
J/Boats ethos is to design yachts that can be sailed with less crew, be that with family and friends or your racing crew. Whether it's the 65ft J/65 such as 'Burning Palms' racing 2-up in the local Blue Water events, down to the 22ft J/70, the same principles apply. With build quality, ergonomic cockpits, powerful controls in easy reach, high stability, lead keels, wide side decks, proper sized winches and lots of purchase on the sail tuning systems provide the best platform to get the most from your boat.
Whilst the J/99 and J/88 are both in the running for the Olympic Mixed Double Handed event, they are designed to offer much more diverse capability whether sailing short handed or fully crewed, inshore or offshore.
Come and see these two impressive sail boats on the marina at RPAYC, 16 Mitala St, Newport on Saturday 21st November. Due to Covid regulations, please contact RPAYC on 02 9998 3700 to register your interest to attend the seminar. The event runs from 9.30am to 2.30pm and includes talks by two guest speakers- how to get your boat ready and how to lift your level of skills for two-handed sailing.
If you can't make it on 21st November, then Ray and Sandra at J/Boats Australia are always on hand to have a chat about the J/Boats range. 02 99977158 or 0406 562262.
