Two of Australia's leading Superyacht marinas, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM) and Coral Sea Marina Resort (CSMR) have been listed as Finalists in the inaugural ACREW Superyacht Business Awards. In the ultimate endorsement, these global awards acknowledge and celebrate the best superyacht businesses in the world, as voted by an active network of over 15,000 captains and crew.

ACREW supply professional development, training and events to a worldwide association of senior captains and crew. In 2020, they called on that network to vote for the best Superyacht Marinas, Provisioning Companies, Insurance Companies and Superyacht Agents by region.

Announced earlier this month, both GCCM and CSMR passed through a panel of senior Captains to become two of only three Finalists in the marina category for the entire South Pacific region. ACREW defines the ideal Superyacht marina as '...... providing the best standard of services and facilities to Superyacht Captains & Crew. This marina is also praised for their willingness to assist Superyacht guests; ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Whether a home port or a destination marina, the winner of this award is loved and appreciated by crew.'

"This is a coup for Queensland and Australia that not one but two of our superyacht marinas have been recognised in these prestigious awards. We are excited that our co-Finalists are the team at Coral Sea Marina Resort as we work with them all the time to ensure our clients have a seamless transition up the east coast of Queensland. No matter if they win or we win, it says a great deal about the level of service and attention superyachts can enjoy when they visit Queensland and Australia," stated GCCM's CEO, Mr Trenton Gay.

GCCM is in the south eastern corner of Queensland on the Coomera River on the Gold Coast and operates as a maintenance, refit, repair and service destination for superyachts, many of which are on the route north to the Whitsunday/ Great Barrier Reef region and CSMR.

"Our marina is located at the heart of some of the best cruising grounds in the world; the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. In the last decade we have made significant investments into the site, facilities and our services as we want to make sure every aspect of a yacht's visit to our marina is perfect. This recognition as finalists shows investments are paying off and we are glad to be recognized on the global stage and in GCCM's company," offered CSMR owner, Paul Darrouzet.

Crew voting will open on Monday 2 November 2020 and close on Friday 20 November 2020 with the winners to be announced in December. Crew can vote online by visiting acrew.com/awards/superyacht-business-awards-2020.
