  • More than 129 exhibiting companies will have virtual stands with 360 technology and customer service in real time.
  • The show will be split into 15 areas and has an extensive calendar of events centred around marine culture.
  • It will be held between the 28th of October and the 1st of November, and those who register before the opening date can win a skippered sailing trip.

The 12th edition of the Valencia Boat Show, which was presented this morning, will be remembered for becoming the first 100% virtual show of the sector, a concept created from scratch at a time when in-person events are not possible. The pioneering Virtual Valencia Boat Show will bring together from the 28th of October to the 1st of November 129 companies and institutions and more than 200 boats, with a full calendar of events related to the culture of the sea.

Thanks to the technology implemented by Grupo Alfatec, a leading company in technological development, and one of the joint organisers of the event, together with La Marina de València - recreated in maximum detail on the virtual platform - and the Unión de Empresas Náuticas (UEN), Virtual VBS visitors will be able to enjoy a 100% real experience accessible from anywhere in the world and from any device.

Just as the challenge last year for the team led by Nacho Gómez-Zarzuela was to breathe new life into the classic concept of a boat show, without limiting it to the mere buying and selling of boats and bringing it closer to the public, the challenge for 2020 too has been enormous: While adhering to the successful idea that last year brought together more than 22,000 people, adapting the event to a virtual format that offers the same benefits to its visitors.

Thus, the Valencian show will once again feature the leading boatyards and brands of the sector presenting a selection of new boats, engines, accessories, marine services and all kinds of innovations, bringing together a wide range of new developments. In fact, the Valencia Boat Show has already beaten its own record of exhibitors: 129 companies at 130 stands.

A complete event

And like last year, the offer for visitors will be complemented by conferences, talks, consultancy sessions and networking for marine companies, cinema and artistic exhibitions in digital format. This year, in addition, the creation of synergies gives a leap in quality with a professional networking with a closed agenda of meetings, organised by the specialised Company Gettingcontacts and with the sponsorship of València Turisme.

Design and sailing come together

One of the important new features of this edition is the participation of València World Design Capital 2022, which is getting involved with the organisation of conferences specialised in linking design and all things nautical. The World Design Capital has also organised a networking session to link design and sailing, in which different Valencian designers can showcase their nautical work to a specialised public that may need these services in the present or future.

Promoting sustainable nautical tourism

Likewise, Virtual Valencia Boat Show has the active collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, which has organised a day of conferences in which sustainable nautical themes and good practices that are currently so important in the sector will be discussed, with the presence of the Regional Secretary for Tourism, Francesc Colomer, amongst others.

The Valencia Boat Show is also part of the programme of commemorative events for the V Centenary of the first circumnavigation of Magellan and Elcano and will be the official headquarters of the Congress of Approved Sailing Schools of the Valencian Community. In addition, it will be attended by great references in the world of sailing such as offshore racers Guillermo Altadill and Dídac Costa, Olympic sailors Santiago Lange, Jordi Xammar and Florian Trittel, and major events such as SailGP and The Ocean Race, who will contribute their vision on diverse subjects during the five days of the event.

Lovers of nautical photography will also be able to enjoy a virtual exhibition with the work of the five best specialised photographers, and shipowners interested in improving the performance of their boat cannot miss the talks organised by specialised companies such as Varadero Valencia, or associations such as ANAVRE. A wide range of events and activities related to the sea in all its aspects.

Register and sail

Those who register for the event before the start on the 28th of October are eligible to win a 4-day sailing trip courtesy of PaperBoat and QuickSail Charter, with free mooring in the marinas of IPM Group in Mallorca and Ibiza (subject to availability).
