Sea Ventures Race Yachts will be providing the prizes for double-handed entries in the 2020 HYS Hamble Winter Series. Double-handed yachts have been invited to enter the series for the first time this year, both to recognise their growing significance in IRC racing and to help them extend their season in this exceptional year.

"Sea Ventures Race Yachts are happy to be involved in supporting the HYS Hamble Winter Series" said Nigel Colley, Managing Director of Sea Ventures, "With the double-handed summer series over last weekend they are now able to sail in a winter series for the first time".

The current IRC Double Handed National Champion, Gentoo, Sunfast 3300, is entered for this weekend's racing.

Rich Cooper, Jongleur, J/88, was the first double-hander home in last week's race and he is looking forward to more teams joining the series. "It was a great days sailing on Sunday," said Rich, but on hearing of Gentoo's entry he added wryly, "Gentoo! One should be careful what one wishes for!"

This weekend, 17th and 18th October, sees two days racing in the Hamble Autumn IRC Championships. With over 60 boats entered it should be an exciting weekend.
