Gyro stabilization technology company Smartgyro has partnered with marine electronics specialist Simrad® to enable the integration of all data from its stabilizers with the latest Simrad® multifunction displays.

Providing boaters with enhanced interactive capabilities at the helm station, the new Smartgyro stabilization interface on Simrad® displays allows the user to control and manage all the information and alarms on-board with a single, intuitive graphic display, projected on one or multiple MFDs.

The Smartgyro application is available on Simrad® NSSevo3S™, NSSevo3™, NSSevo2™, NSOevo3S™, NSOevo2™, and GO series displays, ensuring operational information from the sophisticated SG series stabilizers can now be an integral feature of the unique Simrad® Command experience, an evolving ecosystem offering easy and effective management of on-board data.

Requiring only one interconnecting cable between the Smartgyro stabilizer and the multifunction display, the SG unit's data is communicated to the Simrad® device via an HTML5 server (OPbox) through the ethernet network. As an additional feature, the Smartgyro user manual can also be accessed through the NSSevo3S™ and NSSevo3™.

Smartgyro Sales Manager Carlo Gazerro said: "For boaters who prefer to concentrate the information from different devices on a single MFD, or multiple MFDs networked together, we are pleased to announce the new partnership between Smartgyro and Simrad® to improve the management of on-board data and systems. With this development, the Smartgyro stabilizer becomes part of the on-board ecosystem of all boats that use Simrad® MFDs. Now it is possible to operate and monitor the boat's stabilization directly using one or more MFDs without needing to use the dedicated Smartgyro display, with all functions now available on the Simrad® network."

Smartgyro gyroscopic stabilizers offer unique performance and maintenance benefits to boat owners and boatbuilders. The first two products to be launched from the upcoming complete range, the SG40, for boats from 50ft to 60ft, and the SG80, for boats from 60ft to 70ft, are ideal for new builds and refit installations on recreational and light duty commercial powerboats.

The outstanding advantage of the units is that all maintenance operations can be performed on-board, significantly reducing downtime and service costs, and extending product life. Le Spezia-based Smartgyro is backed by strategic partner YANMAR and its group companies, including Vetus, Maxwell and Flexofold.
