Mads Bendix has built an eight point lead from Andre Budzien following the third day in Kieler Woche after a day of strong winds and great racing. Thomas Hansson-Mild is a further nine points back in third.

Bendix dominated the opening race with a huge win in 15-20 knots to extend his points lead. Hansson-Mild was seen adjusting his mast rake between races and led at the top in the next race to pull away from the fleet for what would have been a massive win. However on the final downwind legs, the wind hit 30 knots and he, along with Bendix and many others, went swimming, which left the race win to Bo Petersen, who won the day with a second and a first.

The third race was abandoned due to the strong winds. One day remains, though the forecast is for even stronger winds on Sunday.
