Theo de Ramecourt of France put an end to fellow countrymen Axel Mazella's impressive streak of race wins, stealing final series race 5 ahead of Benoit Gomez, also from France.

Gomez impressively demonstrated how big the competitive weight range of Formula Kite is Scoring two second places and a number of other high rank finishes during the two final series days against the highly competitive fleet, the 102kg athlete had no problems to stay close on the heels of his sometimes only 70kg light competitors.

Another Frenchmen, Maxime Nocher, in the meantime defended his second place overall to make it together with Mazella directly into the Medal Series on Super Sunday. Mazella will go into the events ultimate races with two "match points" while Nocher carries one "match point".

The remaining two contenders in the Medal Series will come from two Semi Finals, where the competitors ranked 3-14 in the opening series will fight for the conveted spot. Best chances to make the final have third ranked Theo de Ramecourt of France and Slovenia's Toni Vodisek.

In the women's fleet, Poland's Julia Damasiewicz defended her lead in the only race of the day. Racing was affected by an approaching depression system that brough rain and ever changing winds which made it difficult for race committee and competitors alike to get fair racing under way.

Magdalena Woyciechowska, also from Poland, is waiting in the women's Medal Series together with Damasiewicz for the remaining two finalists, coming from Semi Final A and B. Britains Ellie Aldridge and Germany's Leonie Meier are the favourites to make the cut and ultimately race for the 2020 Euroepan Championship titles.
