Foil for Life Challenge by Lemer Pax foils past The Needles!

by Mark Jardine 14 Aug 2020 05:01 PDT 14 August 2020

After an early morning rig in Lymington, the fleet of WASZPs, their intrepid helms and the support team on the RIBs are on their way to Le Havre!

James Tomlinson has taken some great photos of the sailors rigging and then foiling their way out of the Solent and past the Needles, into the Channel.

The Foil for Life Challenge by Lemer Pax sees the six WASPZ sailors, Pierre Leboucher, Mael Garnier, Corentin Horeau, Hattie Rogers, Edward Higson & William Heathcote, taking on the Channel, sailing between Lymington and Le Havre - a route of 103 miles and an estimated 10 hours of foiling. The sailors have trained hard to ensure they have the endurance needed for what will undoubtably be an arduous sail, but their determination to raise money for the amazing charities is spurring them forwards. The team will travel in a Covid-secure manner with a full support team on RIBs.

The team are immensely grateful to Lemer Pax for their title sponsorship of the challenge.
