Weston Sailing Club's (WSC) Inaugural SUP event took place 8th Aug 2020 on what was probably one of the hottest days of the year.

Located on Southampton Water WSC is a very welcoming club that has a great mix of semi-sheltered water paddling to very choppy dependant on wind direction and speed. Saturday's weather was hot and sunny Force 1 to 2. A dozen competitors entered split evenly between iSUP and Hardboards.

The race format was four races of which three races would count to your overall result. The first two races where short to mid-distance (2km to 5km) followed by two sprint races. All races in both fleets where closely contested with places changing as competitors got used to the conditions and the heat! All races started at the water's edge with courses set close to the club making it great for spectators. The sprint races were great fun with only a few seconds between finishing competitors.

Thanks must to go to for supporting with generous prizes. Prize giving was held on the club's patio, whilst competitors enjoyed well earnt drinks from the bar. Well done to Jamie Grant (Hardboard) and Isabelle Peterkin (iSUP) for winning the first event.
